Background and Education
Dr. Goyal grew up in New Jersey and spent parts of his youth in Edison, Perth Amboy, and Old Bridge. He graduated from high school in Old Bridge and then attended Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. After college, he went to medical school in Philadelphia at MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
In medical school, students have the opportunity to learn many different types of medical specialties. That was when Dr. Goyal decided to pursue a career in surgery. In particular, Dr. Goyal fell in love with the field of ENT (also known Otolaryngology). He went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology in Syracuse, New York at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Residency is the time when doctors learn about all the different parts of their chosen specialty. During residency, Dr. Goyal was drawn to the field of Rhinology. This is the specialty within the field of ENT that focuses on treating nasal and sinus issues. He loved learning about all the new developments in nasal surgery. Because of that, he decided to specialize specifically in Rhinology to learn as much as he could about nasal and sinus problems. After five years of ENT residency, Dr. Goyal went to Stanford University for fellowship training in Rhinology, sinus surgery, and skull base surgery.
Medical Practice
Dr. Goyal has been working in his medical practice since 2006. His practice has focused on nasal surgery, sinus surgery, and skull base surgery over that entire time. He started his practice in Syracuse as the Director of the Division of Rhinology and Sinus Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2006. Dr. Goyal developed a busy clinical practice focusing on nasal and sinus problems. He also developed a program in skull base surgery to treat patients with sinus tumors, skull base tumors, and pituitary tumors.
In 2014, Dr. Goyal started his own medical practice in Syracuse, New York. He continued his focus on providing outstanding care to patients from throughout upstate New York. He also wanted to have a practice where patients received personalized attention from a caring team of staff members. Dr. Goyal has found that running his own independent medical practice has allowed him to focus on all of these goals.
In 2020, he opened his office in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to offer the same level of care to patients from throughout central New Jersey. He continues to focus on providing excellent care for those needing nasal surgery, sinus surgery, and skull base surgery.
