Functional Rhinoplasty is a corrective procedure designed to restore a clear, unobstructed airway. We recognize that the external shape of the nose is often a reflection of its internal health.

Common Causes of Nasal Obstruction

We treat several conditions that can impede airflow:

• Deviated Septum: When the wall between the nostrils is crooked or displaced, blocking one or both sides.
• Nasal Valve Collapse: Weakness, narrowness, or full collapse of the critical areas of the nose responsible for airflow during inhalation.
• Turbinate Hypertrophy: Enlargement of the structures that warm and moisten the air.
• Nasal Trauma: Previous injuries that have altered the internal and external structure of the nose.

The Intersection of Form and Function

While the primary goal of functional surgery is medical, we understand that patients may also wish to address cosmetic concerns. Because we are facial plastic surgeons, we can often perform concurrent Cosmetic Rhinoplasty, which simultaneously refines the external appearance of the nose.
